The Circle at Zurich Airport is a unique vision by architect Riken Yamamoto and a building of superlatives: 180,000 square meters of usable space house two hotels with an adjoining congress center, a health center, a variety of offices, stores and restaurants, an education center and much more.

About the project

For us, working on this milestone was first and foremost a great honor. However, it also brought with it an enormous challenge: to supply 8,000 doors for a wide range of requirements in terms of fire protection, sound insulation, access restrictions, representation, materiality and appearance. Only with the help of our comprehensive portfolio and the high production capacity of RWD Schlatter were we in a position to deliver everything from a single source. And that in the logistically challenging times of the coronavirus pandemic.

Customised, double-leaf soundproof door in a restaurant — This double-leaf soundproof door was customised for a restaurant in Europa-Park. It fulfils the highest requirements for sound insulation and design.

Soundproof doors are functional doors that reduce the transmission of sound between different rooms or from the outside into the building and have a sound-insulating effect. Due to denser construction, increasing population density and the growing importance of working from home, the requirements for structural sound insulation are constantly increasing. In many cases, legal requirements also demand tested sound insulation. RWD Schlatter has extensive expertise in the field of sound insulation. Thanks to the company's own sound test bench, door elements can be tested and optimized.
