The military barracks in Isone have been home to the Grenadier School (now the Special Forces Training Centre) of the Swiss Army since 1973.
The wooden framed doors with synthetic resin surfaces have a special frame construction that allowed all electrical cables to be built in covered. The Plexiglas lettering windows were integrated flush. The stainless steel pedestal-plates could also be flush-mounted in the frame and sash. The oversized fire compartments with door-in-door concept and sliding doors with automatic locking devices provide the desired security in the barracks. Customised stainless steel jamb cladding conceals the existing door frames and gives the rooms a fresh, modern ambience.
