After many years in the cantonal hospital, the Rheumaliga Schaffhausen has moved its hot water baths to the former steel foundry. When it opens in the year 2023, the region will have a modern therapy bath. The new location looks back on a lengthy industrial tradition: steel was produced on the site from 1828 to 1990. Today, the area is used for residential, commercial and service purposes as part of the "Stahlgiesserei" site development.

The therapy bath project offered us the opportunity to realise customised solutions for complex requirements. Interior doors, fire protection and escape route doors as well as heat and climate protection doors were used, all of which we were able to realise with an Orsopal coating.

Why Orsopal? Orsopal is a high-quality cast resin coating that is applied in liquid form and completely encapsulates the door. Its properties are particularly impressive in the bathroom area: water and moisture resistant, germ and bacteria inhibiting, splice and scratch resistant, individual paint clay design, available in RAL and NCS paint clays.

Interior view of a therapy pool: stainless steel handrails and a wide stepped staircase lead to a swimming pool. In the background, a white, glazed interior door with frame in a shiny turquoise-blue tiled wall; wall lamp and controls on the right, water reflections visible.
Therapy bathroom corridor, level floor with dark blue square tiles, central floor drain, white cubicle doors on both sides and glazed door with handle at the end; easily recognisable door frames and floor design for planning purposes
Barrier-free corridor in the Schaffhausen therapy pool: bright, floor-level corridor with beige floor tiles and turquoise glazed wall tiles, three white interior doors with lever handles and handrail; open door shows orange-coloured lockers.
View of a therapy bathroom: in the foreground, a closed white toilet door with a round "WC" symbol and handle on the right, framed by small dark grey tiles; a light-coloured changing area with orange, numbered lockers (24-27) is visible through the passageway. High-contrast colours and clear shapes make it easier for visually impaired people to find their way around.
Exterior view: two-storey glass façade of the Schaffhausen therapy pool with large areas of glazing and black frame, level access with wide doors and partially frosted panes, visible interior lighting, rusty steel beams on the right and paved courtyard with concrete seating blocks.
