Soundproof doors

Soundproof doors from RWD Schlatter are functional doors that reduce noise. On the one hand, they protect rooms from external noise sources, and on the other, they prevent noise from penetrating from a room to the outside, e.g. in production halls, offices or recreation areas. Due to denser construction, a higher population density and increased demands for peace and quiet, the requirements for sound insulation have increased. RWD Schlatter has extensive expertise in the field of sound insulation and has its own sound insulation test stand.

Depending on the requirements, RWD Schlatter offers soundproof doors with protection values between RW 27 dB and 50 dB. For particularly sensitive areas such as cinemas, concert halls, recording studios or lecture halls, special high sound insulation doors have also been developed. These are also used wherever high-noise and low-noise zones directly adjoin each other. The high sound insulation doors developed by RWD Schlatter not only meet the highest sound insulation requirements, but also offer high standards in the areas of security, fire protection and thermal insulation.

Efficient sound insulation for interiors

A soundproof door is designed to reduce the sound level that penetrates through it. It is made of special materials that can insulate sound. The material and thickness of the door leaves, frames and seals are decisive for sound insulation. It is important that soundproof doors, like all our security doors, are regularly maintained and checked for proper functioning. The correct installation and fitting of soundproof doors is also crucial to ensure the best possible sound insulation.

Good to know

Here you will find exciting facts, useful tips and interesting information:

Products from RWD Schlatter

The following RWD Schlatter products offer a special sound insulation function:

  • SoundStar
  • ForasS
  • UniStar

All other doors also have a sound-insulating effect, details of which can be found in the download area.

Values

We recommend blade value RW+ C - 5dB. This results in the built-in value of the element R'W + C.

High sound insulation

For applications with the highest sound insulation requirements, RWD Schlatter relies on specialized door elements that have been specifically developed for high sound insulation. They are made of high-quality materials and are based on tested designs. This makes them ideal for use in particularly sensitive areas such as recording studios, concert halls or cinemas. The SoundStar HS 108 and SoundStar HS 108 Alu models are used, both in single or double-leaf versions. Also available is the SoundStar 68 model on wooden frame RS-D-57, also available with one or two leaves.

Special

Single or double-leaf doors - optionally with or without glass, fanlight or side panel. Special solutions, special verifications and project-specific sound tests can also be realized thanks to our own sound test bench.

Function combination

The soundproof doors from RWD Schlatter can be supplemented with additional protective functions depending on the project requirements. Whether fire, smoke or radiation protection - different properties can be easily combined.

Environmental protection

We pay attention to resource-conserving and environmentally conscious production. On request, we use particularly sustainable materials such as PEFC-certified wood. This is complemented by energy-efficient production and consistent recycling of all waste. RWD Schlatter attaches great importance to sustainability - in every step of the manufacturing process.

Sustainability

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for soundproof doors to retain their full effect in the long term. The door leaf, seals, frames and fittings must remain optimally matched to each other in order to reliably guarantee the tested sound insulation values. Even minor deviations, for example due to wear or components that are not precisely adjusted, can impair the sound insulation performance. RWD Schlatter recommends regular maintenance to ensure long-term functionality and tightness - especially in the case of high frequency of use or special sound insulation requirements. Further information on the subject of maintenance can be found here.

Test benches

At our headquarters in Roggwil TG, we have a sound test stand which is also recognized as an external test centre by the notified institute ift Rosenheim. This means that door systems can be officially tested in accordance with specified test standards. The result of a successful test is European-recognized test certificates.
