Secondary level I includes the three types of school: special, intermediate and secondary school. In order to emphasize the desired warm atmosphere of the rooms, all door-sets were veneered with oak. These are UniStar sound and climate control doors and SoundStar soundproof doors. Some of the elements also have built-in glass side panels, ensuring brightness, transparency and a view through.

Close-up of a slightly open interior door made of light-coloured oak: visible stainless steel fittings (lever handle, cylinder rose, lock case). The door opens into a school corridor with a chequered floor, uniform ceiling lighting and windows at the end of the corridor - good contrasts between metal and wood and clear orientation points for visually impaired people.
View into a bright school corridor: long corridor with warm wood panelling and several open wooden doors to classrooms, seating niches, brick-red tiled floor, exposed concrete ceiling, ceiling lights, emergency exit signs and a large window at the end.
Interior shot of a school corridor: wood-panelled walls, on the left an open wooden door into a room with a red and white chequered floor, on the right a high glass wall with a view through to the window and balcony; concrete wall and light switch visible.
School washroom: two washbasins with mirror and soap dispenser; open wooden interior door to the staircase with banister; two blue WC cubicles on the right, beige floor and wall tiles.
Exterior view of the Burghalde secondary school: long, light-coloured brick façade in a slight perspective with a two-storey row of tall, green-framed windows/doors, covered entrance on the left and shrubs on the right.
