We organize the maintenance of functional and fire doors once a year or several times a year at the customer's request.
Who organizes the maintenance or service appointment?
We schedule the service assignments with us and coordinate the necessary appointments with the person responsible in your company.
Are there different maintenance contract options?
Yes, we offer a Basic and a Premium version.
What is the difference between a Basic and a Premium maintenance contract?
With the Premium maintenance contract, you receive a higher discount on spare parts (e.g. locks, hinges, door closers, etc.) and we also grant you an attractive 12-month warranty extension for all doors included in the maintenance contract.
What happens if I don't service the doors?
If doors are not maintained, defects, damage and functional restrictions cannot be rectified. This prevents the affected doors from functioning properly. It often results in fire and smoke protection no longer being guaranteed in accordance with legal requirements. In addition, functional and fire protection doors that are regularly maintained have a longer service life.
Am I obliged to carry out a service or maintenance on doors?
According to Art. 58 of the Swiss Code of Obligations, the owner of a building is responsible for compensating for any damage caused as a result of inadequate maintenance. The VKF standard Art. 20 also stipulates that owners and users of buildings and installations are responsible for ensuring that facilities for structural, technical and defensive fire protection are maintained and operational as intended.
There is therefore no direct obligation to carry out maintenance or servicing. However, if maintenance is neglected, this can lead to high costs and personal injury in the event of an emergency or fire.

Are the maintenance work carried out documented?
Yes, we archive all service and maintenance documents. If the customer has any questions, these documents can be sent to us at any time.
Does RWD Schlatter also service doors from other manufacturers?
We only offer this service for doors that are manufactured by us. In exceptional cases, we also service third-party doors after consultation.
How much does it cost to maintain or service the doors?

Where can I find detailed information about my doors?
Our fire protection doors from RWD Schlatter have a sticker. This shows the manufacturer, year of production, door number, order number, etc. Our customer service will be happy to help you determine this if required.
Are only doors that are newly installed serviced?
No, RWD Schlatter offers maintenance or a maintenance contract for all functional and fire protection doors supplied to date. It does not matter whether the doors were installed yesterday or 15 years ago.
How long does it take to service a door?
The time required depends on the type and condition of the door.
What does the customer need to prepare for upcoming maintenance?
As the customer, you only need to ensure access to the relevant doors. RWD Schlatter organizes everything else as part of a carefree package.
Can I also have one-off maintenance carried out on the doors of my property without signing a maintenance contract?
