The federal government is building a new federal asylum centre with a processing function in the Hädler area in Altstätten. Construction will start in spring 2024 and the centre will provide space for 390 asylum seekers and create around 110 jobs. After completion, the existing centre on Bleichemühlistrasse will be closed and dismantled.
