The BKW Energie AG office building at Bahnhofstrasse 20 is undergoing a comprehensive restoration after around 40 years of operation. The authorities in Ostermundigen granted planning permission in December 2021. The restoration includes the renovation of the office building, including an extension and goods delivery annex with expansion of the basement near Oberdorfstrasse, the redesign of the building envelope with light alloy and glazing construction, finishing work on the interior and the redesign of the surrounding area with consideration for the protected trees. The construction project is being carried out in accordance with the Minergie-Eco-P standard.
