The frame is assembled directly onto the brick work and is particularly suitable if the light dimension is to remain as large as possible. However, the erection means that the frame is visible in front of the brick work. This variant offers a simple and efficient solution when quick erection and minimised loss of light are paramount. It is often used for modifications or in functional ranges.
Block frame
The block frame is placed between the wall reveal and enables a version that is flush with the wall and optically restrained. This type of installation results in a slightly greater loss of light, but offers clear, flush integration within the wall. The block frame is often used in new buildings where design precision is required. It is particularly suitable for modern, minimalist architectural solutions.
Block frame with jamb
The block frame with jamb is also built in between the reveal, but also covers the entire wall-thickness. This creates a clean completion across the full depth of the wall, which is particularly appreciated in high-quality interior work. Here, too, a certain loss of light mass is to be expected. Block frames with jamb are often used where a continuous appearance and functional covering of the reveal is desired.
