RWD Schlatter has renovated the roof of production hall 1 at its headquarters in Roggwil TG and equipped it with a high-performance photovoltaic system. The roof of office building 1 was also fitted with a new system. RWD Schlatter is thus sending out a clear signal in favour of energy efficiency, sustainability and the responsible use of resources.
Focus on energy efficiency and sustainability
RWD Schlatter has renewed the roof of production bays 1, which dates back to the year 1959, and equipped it with a 725 kWp photovoltaic system. The expected annual yield of round 775 MWh will reduce CO₂ emissions by over 365 tonnes per year. The company is thus thickening its energy independence and sending out a clear signal in favour of sustainability. The roof of company building 1, where the reception and offices are located, was also equipped with a photovoltaic system. This has an output of 81 kWp, creates around 84,311 kWh of electricity per year and reduces CO₂ emissions by around 40 tonnes per year. Together with the existing assets on the stock and logistics building, RWD Schlatter in Roggwil creates around 1,184 MWh of electricity per year, covering over 50 per cent of the production's electricity requirements.
More comfort, more efficiency, more security
The modernisation of the roof on production bay 1 improves lighting conditions and acoustics and creates a more pleasant working environment. At the same time, maintenance costs are reduced and the building fulfils current fire protection standards. Noise emissions have also been reduced: The old exhaust air duct and noise barrier gave way to an efficient, barely visible silencer, which delivers better results and enhances the appearance.
A clear signal for the future
With the modernisation of the roof of production bay 1 and the two new PV systems, RWD Schlatter shows how tradition and progress can be junctioned. The project stands for innovation, energy efficiency and environmental protection and forms the base for even more sustainable production.
