Linolea - Sustainable elegance for every surface

The linoleum surface enhances doors and creates a harmonious spatial effect. Thanks to maximum design freedom, the design blends into room concepts on furniture, floors or walls - for a consistent, aesthetic overall look.

Designer door with linoleum surface

At ARCHITECT@WORK in Zurich in May 2025, RWD Schlatter presented a new door concept that combines design, sustainability and functionality: Linolea - the door with a linoleum surface. The product is currently still in the concept phase. The presentation at the renowned trade fair was used to gather feedback from architecture and interior design and to discuss possible areas of application.

Linoleum is a material made from 98% natural and mineral raw materials - including linseed oil, cork flour, wood flour and limestone. It is CO₂-neutral in production, biodegradable and impresses with its soft, warm feel and easy-care, matt surface. Linoleum is antistatic, bacteria-inhibiting and resistant to fingerprints - properties that are ideal for doors in commercial and residential areas.

The Linolea concept is aimed at a consistent material design in the interior. Doors, furniture, floors and walls can be designed with linoleum in matching colors to create a harmonious overall look. The top layer used is 2 mm thick, durable and hard-wearing. The doors can be fitted with all colors from the Forbo Linoleum range, which allows a high degree of design flexibility.

Linolea is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional - for use in places such as schools, surgeries, offices, hotels and high-end residential buildings.

With Linolea, RWD Schlatter is entering new creative spaces and once again underlining the company's innovative strength. The concept is currently being evaluated and further developed - always with the aim of combining design with environmental awareness and suitability for everyday use.
